Oh hey stranger.
I know, I know. It’s been forever. If you’ve been following along on Twitter or Periscope, you’ll know that I’ve been on a hiatus due to a new job and moving and then most recently my blog was hacked. But I certainly have not just given up on this here blog of mine! I have many, many exciting plans ahead and can’t wait to fill you in! Before I launch into today’s post, I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for all of the support you’ve given me during this time off and through all of the crazy transitions as of late. It’s truly humbling to know I have people loving on me even when I’m not able to give you my all. Thank you.
One of the amazing people who has been so gracious with me during my time away is Monica. Monica and I filmed an episode of What I’m Working On* months ago–you can tell how long ago it’s been because we’re wearing short sleeves, shorts, and tank tops in the video!–and I really dropped the ball in getting this post up when I should have. The great thing is that everything Monica shares is completely relevant and interesting, especially for those of you who have left the corporate world for self-employment.
Monica is the owner of Pop Craft, a pop-up maker workshop company that helps you create something unique, experience an exciting night out, and learn a new skill at an affordable price. Whether you’re looking for a date night activity, a fun girls night out, or just for something different to do, Pop Craft is the perfect choice for a memorable evening. I have attended two Pop Craft workshops already, including one to celebrate my 25th birthday!
Monica has been a true joy to get to know. Transitioning from working in the corporate world to now owning and running her own creative business hasn’t been without its challenges, but she’s managed to make it work so gracefully! I am in awe of her ingenuity and her eagerness to provide something unique and fun to our local community.
Before we launch into her episode, here’s a brief #WIWO update on me:
I have a new job! I’m now working as a Growth Manager at a great content marketing managed services company. My role is to focus solely on our technology tool, UpContent, and to serve as a marketing manager and a growth hacker. I’ve been on-the-job for a little over two months now and I really enjoy it! We have been working super hard and will continue to push through a big sprint through January, so stay tuned for more! I have a feeling many of you will find UpContent to be veeeeery useful in your content marketing strategy. Lots to do until then!
On the Blog
Big plans. Because I’ve had ample amount of time to remove myself from the blog, daydream a bit, then come back and really reflect and refine, I am now in a really good place to start to make things happen. Unfortunately, work will be pretty stressful and busy for the next few weeks, but I’m hoping that will serve as momentum for me to work on my own things! If you want to stay in-the-loop about exciting things to come, be sure to sign up for my newsletter. These lovely individuals will be the first to know!
Admittedly I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride these past few months personally. So many things have been so so wonderful: new job, new apartment in the city, new friends. I feel supremely blessed. I also just participated in my second Pittstop Lindy Hop Exchange and it was a blast. On the other hand, there’s been a lot to process emotionally and that’s been both lovely and difficult. I’m highly considering starting a 30-day writing challenge in December, inspired by Jason Zook and Regina and I think that’s going to really help me work through these things as well as hopefully crank out some solid content for both work and for Ampersand!
